Tea Champagne
Named for the region from where it comes, and known as the "champagne of teas", this tea gem is grown in the foothills of the snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas. Harvested in June, this second flush produces an amber liquid with a full-bodied, muscatel flavor in the cup. Beautiful floral fragrance, with hints of stone fruit sweetness, it gives a long finish with pleasant astringency. This tea is biodynamically farmed at the Makaibari Estate in India (est. 1859), the oldest estate in Darjeeling, and is a must for the tea cupboard.
